Bad Music Video
Year Released: 1987
Directed by: Martin Scorsese
Starring: Michael Jackson
Co-starring: Wesley Snipes
This was the highly awaited first video from Michael Jackson's
"Bad" album. Although it was the second single released
from the album (the first being "I Just Can't Stop Loving You")
it became the signature video for the album.
The video was reportedly based on a story about a bright, inner
city youth who opted to forego gangs for education. In the full
version Michael Jackson, who portrays the youth, is shown leaving
his elite school and returning to his poor neighborhood.
Little known fact: The song was originally intended
to be a duet between Jackson and long-time rival Prince, who declined
to take part.
