The song Smile was originally composed by Charlie Chaplin as the soundtrack to his film Modern Times brought out in 1936.
In 1995 the song featured on Michael's album History.
It was due to be released in 1997 but never happened, it was stopped days before the release date.
As a tribute to Princess Diana, Michael had Smile played at the beginning of the last History World tour concerts, but never has the song been performed live by Jackson,
A special HBO concert was set to take place but before Michael could perform live he collapsed during the rehearsals.
On July 7th 2009, the day of Michael's memorial service, his friend Brooke Shields mentioned how much Michael like the song Smile, it was then Jermaine Jackson sung Smile live for the first time ever.
Since Michael's death, Smile has reached number 74 in the UK chart.
