Rock with you came from Michael's hit solo album Off the Wall. It was the second single off the album released on November 3rd 1979 reaching number 7 in the UK singles chart.
It was re released on February 27th 2006 on visionary getting to number 15 in the UK chart in March 2006.
The song was written by Heatwave band member and songwriter Rod Temperton, helping Michael achieve one of the first number ones in the 1980's.
In 1995 Brandy covered Rock With You for Quincy Jones album, and later in 2003 Ashanti covered the single performing it on BET awards.
In 2008 Janet Jackson released a song also by the name Rock With U, this was not a cover as her song had totally different lyrics and music.
